The department of Botany was established in year 2009.With a view to prepare the students desirous of learning, understanding, teaching and practicing various aspects of plant science. Botany department is running academic programs at UG level with support of two teachers. Department is committed to have the best infra-structure and facilities so as to insure standards of excellence and supreme quality for the students. There is one laboratory in department. The department provides various facilities for imparting good quality higher education and conducting research for the faculty. The department is proud of having doctors and administrators. The department also provides training for research (in the form of certificate course) to create interest in the students and boost their knowledge. The main thrust area of teaching and research are plant pathology, Mycology, Physiology, Systematic Botany, Genetics, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology.About 30 research papers in national and international journals were published by faculty.

The Botanical excursion are organized every year in view to study the wild plant diversity and to inculcate the research knowledge to the students by visiting different research laboratories. The Botanical garden forms an important part of the department covering an area about 7800 sq.ft. It is useful for teaching and research in the department which harbors several economically important trees, gymnosperms, medicinal plants, flowering plants etc.
